J-Tech has expanded its offering of ruggedized Ethernet and USB connectors for use in harsh environments.  The new connectors allow use of industry standard RJ45 and USB cordsets in a MIL-DTL-38999 Series III metal shell without any special tool for cable termination.

Mark Wilkinson, President of Conesys, in announcing the new products said, “J-Tech’s offering in MIL-DTL-83723 style shells has been an industry standard.  Now we have expanded that to include industry standard 38999 style shells, and have also engineered an option of industry standard cordsets in a smaller 38999 shell size than offered by some competitors.”

With a number of receptacle and plug shell types, the connectors terminate standard RJ45 or USB cordsets (Cat 5e, Cat 6, or USB-A).  Several plating options are available, including RoHS-compliant.  Cable versions offer IP68 or EMI backshells.  Receptacles can have inserts grounded to the shell.  Accessories are available including metal dust covers, self-closing covers and panel gaskets.
