Omron Introduces Leading Edge Technologies and Expertise to Americas’ Gaming Industry

Omron Electronic Components has announced gaming as one of its official vertical market focuses. This will be the fifth formal vertical market team for the company, complemented by medical, building automation, transportation, and test and measurement. This strategic expansion brings OMRON’s long history, proven quality, and leadership role in the Amusement industry from Japan to the Americas; it also puts in place a local sales team dedicated to the support and growth of the Americas Gaming industry. In addition, Nate Takahashi, from Omron’s Amusement Division in Nagoya, Japan, has joined the team as a field application engineer to support sales and marketing in the Americas for the next three years; he is based in Pleasanton, California.

The Gaming Team is positioned to fully pursue and engage their primary focus applications of mainly Class 3 casino gaming machines, which include slot and video poker equipment. OMRON has supplied components and systems to the Japan-based pachinko and pachisuro markets for decades; by partnering with the amusement division, the company will develop smart strategies and support products for the casino gaming machine market.
