FCI’s EyeMax™ Copper Solution Meets High Speed
Demands
November
2008—FCI has introduced the EyeMax 4X and 12X high-speed serial I/O
link as part of its cable assembly program. EyeMax™ provides
high-speed, serial copper links for industry-standard applications,
including linking servers, storage, computers, switches, and other
data network or communications devices.
“EyeMax
meets the market demands for a low-cost alternative to traditional
fiber optics with its copper solution,” said Bavo Teunissen,
global marketing communications manager, FCI. “The serial copper
links provide a continuous flow of serial data and eliminate data
traffic congestion.”
The mating interface used in EyeMax cable and connector products
has been selected as the external I/O copper link for industry
standards, including Infiniband®, 10G Fibre Channel, 10G Base-CX4
Ethernet, and SFF-8470 for Serial ATA or Serial-Attached SCSI (SAS).
EyeMax cable assemblies enable high-speed data transfers at >2.5
Gbps per link/channel for cable lengths up to 10 meters. In
addition, this cable technology offers <4 percent crosstalk
performance, greater bandwidth, and exceptional electrical
performance to support switched fabric link capabilities and
scalability within and between system hardware applications.
FCI now serves its customers with a full line of cable assemblies
for high-speed applications, as well as 2mm grid power cable
assembly, and cable solutions that compliment FCI’s core products
and custom solutions.
EyeMax is RoHS-compliant. Product lead times average four to six
weeks.
