Hirose
Electric was established in 1937 as Hirose Shokai, a company dealing
in electric insulating materials. Starting in the 1940s, Hirose
began to create ties with the various connector fields, and in 1963
the company unified its strategy to become a manufacturer
specializing in connectors. At that time, Hirose Shokai changed its
name to Hirose Electric Company Ltd. and also developed the first
original connector in Japan. This was at a time when connector
technology was almost totally dependent on the United States.
At present, Hirose commands a leading position as a top-brand in
Japan and the export ratio of its sales has also registered a
dramatic increase, expanding the scope of its activities to the
international stage. In 2005, Hirose passed a new milestone, as
sales went above the 100 billion yen barrier. In 2006, Hirose was
ranked ninth in the top 10 connector companies worldwide. Its future
goal is to achieve further growth by consolidating its management
base and focusing on value enhancement.
The heart of its success comes from Hirose's research and
development, engineering, and sales divisions. These divisions work
closely with its customers, while keeping aware of developing
connector trends in the various industries. This teamwork allows
Hirose to excel with innovation, compact sizes, narrower pitches,
and high-performance connectors.
Hirose develops and manufactures a vast range of well over 50,000
different types of industrial connectors that require advanced
technology and a high level of specialization. Hirose's product
offering includes connectors for: automotive, fiber optic, circular,
power, mobile/cellular telephones, board-to-board, wire-to-board,
microwave, telecomm (RJ11/RJ45), I/O (input/output), flex circuit
connectors for FFC/FPC, small memory/media connectors (SD card),
radio frequency (RF), co-axial, ribbon cable, printed circuit
connectors (PCB connectors), mini USB and
micro USB connectors, and more.
Hirose has a dedicated sales and distribution network throughout the
world. Sales offices are located in Japan, U.S.A., United Kingdom,
Germany, Netherlands, and Korea. Hirose Japan and Hirose USA are ISO
9001-certified companies.
