For OEMs developing standard products or cutting-edge custom solutions, Fujitsu Components America, Inc. offers a wide range of external (input/output) and internal (printed circuit board) electronic connectors. The Fujitsu product line of copper and optical high-speed connectors, modules, and cable assemblies are some of the most extensive and technologically advanced in the industry.

Fujitsu’s product offering includes a broad line of PC card connectors that support CompactFlash, CardBus, and PC Cards. Fujitsu also offers 2mm hard metric backplane connectors supporting the telecom/datacom industry, along with custom backplane interconnect solutions. No matter the market or application, Fujitsu’s goal is to provide customers with interconnect products that add value and reliability while also improving time-to-market.

Fujitsu Connector Sales Percent by Market Segment

Fujitsu is an active member of several working groups that develop and specify interconnect standards. Its connectors support many of the latest standards and interfaces including X2, SCSI I, II, and III; Serial Attached (SAS) SCSI; Serial ATA-2 (4 lane), Intelligent Peripheral Interface (IPI) I and II; SCA2; Fiber Channel; Media Independent Interface (MII); S-bus; Compact PCI, and Infiniband.

High-Speed Copper Interconnect Pioneer
Fujitsu’s primary strength is its innovation in advanced interconnect technology. Fujitsu pioneered the development of high-speed differential copper interconnects with its microGiGaCN™ series. Spurred by the growing trend in high-speed signal transmission, Fujitsu’s microGiGaCN makes it possible to use low-cost copper in 10Gbps+ applications ranging from 0.5 to 20 meter transmission distances. MicroGiGaCN’s simple, robust design provides a cost-effective alternative to fiber optics for high-speed serial/LVDS and VSR parallel optics transceiver modules.

Designed with a scaleable performance range, microGiGaCN delivers the speed and bandwidth necessary for today
and tomorrow’s data centers. In fact, the InfiniBand, Serial Attached SCSI, 10G Ethernet CX4, Serial ATA-2, and 10G Fiber Channel committees have adopted microGiGaCN as their high-speed, copper I/O standards interface. Applications include network routers, switches and hubs, and connections between components in high-speed computer clusters, video systems, test equipment and real-time medical equipment.

Fujitsu’s microGiGaCN Interconnect Series includes:

  • X2 CX4 modules in low- and mid-pak form factors

  • Optical transceiver modules for 4 lane I/O interface (InfiniBand, CX4, 10G Fiber Channel)

  • 4x and 12x loopback modules

  • Copper cable assemblies (2x, 4x and 12x, supporting InfiniBand, SAS, sATA2, CX4, 10G Fiber Channel

  • XENPAK CX4 module

  • Board-to-board mezzanine connectors (10Gbps per lane)

  • Board-to-board co-planar connectors (10Gbps per lane)

  • I/O sockets, plugs and backshells to support 2x, 4x, and 12x applications

  • High speed test boards for signal validation

Fujitsu’s microGiGaCN™ makes it possible to use low-cost copper in 10Gbps+
applications  ranging from 0.5 to 20 meter transmission distances.

Lead-Free Solutions
Fujitsu’s philosophy, "We shall adapt our corporate activities to improve our coexistence with the environment," permeates every aspect of product development and manufacturing. To this end, Fujitsu connectors are lead-free and/or RoHS compliant.
