These are impressive results that have been achieved consistently over the past 11 years.

Samtec has been ranked #1 for 11 consecutive years because the company has developed a culture of treating its customers with exceptional care and maintaining the highest possible service levels:

·         Lead times are very short on many of its products, i.e. one week or less, often 2-3 days.

·         Turnaround on samples is quick, i.e. same-day shipping in most instances, or shipped next day.

·         On-time shipping is arguably the best in the industry, i.e. Sudden Service Program.

·        Samtec’s flexibility to solve problems, and correct mistakes, is very high. Samtec prides itself on making “miracles” happen for customers.

The Samtec attitude is friendly and helpful. Its positive approach to people is first noticed when you call the company. One gets the feeling of warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness. The Samtec culture is readily apparent, beginning with the helpful attitude of the switchboard operator.

As the following demonstrates, customers have rewarded Samtec with their business.

Samtec was founded in 1976, achieving $4 million in sales by 1980. Since 1980, the company has recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.3 percent. This growth is organic—Samtec has not acquired other companies. In 2005, sales were $266 million, and will grow approximately 28 percent in 2006 to $340 million.

Signal Integrity Products and Services

Samtec is developing new products and technologies for high-speed/signal integrity, rugged, power-to-board, RF, and I/O applications. Developing Signal Integrity products and services has been its main focus. Besides having a wide variety of SI products, Samtec has endeavored to apply “Sudden Service” to their SI capabilities. As a result, Samtec has developed programs like:

Signal Integrity Group: The Signal Integrity Group offers person-to-person SI engineering support from Samtec’s in-house staff of EEs. The function of these engineers is to be the direct customer interface on issues like designing, modeling, and testing of high-speed connectors and subsystems, including Samtec’s mated connector components, traces through PCBs, and cabling. They also assist in interpreting test data and performance results and can assist in PCB layout, trace, and routing.

Signal Integrity Center: This is one of the reasons why Samtec’s website, www.samtec.com, has been ranked #1 in Bishop & Associates’ survey. Samtec basically has all of the SI information for each product in one easy-to-find and user-friendly navigational location. Included in the website are SPICE and IBIS models, high-speed characterization reports, time and frequency domain test data, mechanical test data, Application Notes, 3D models, prints, processing guidelines, technical white papers, and 14 different product searches.

Final Inch®: Final Inch® is a free tool which provides customers with the optimized breakout region (BOR) for their PC board for select high-speed connectors. Final Inch® includes physical art, electrical models, empirical data, and test and evaluation boards.  Final Inch® is free-of-charge at www.samtec.com
