Avnet announced that Chuck Delph has been appointed president of Avnet Electronics Marketing (EM) for the Americas region, which supplies electronic components, embedded solutions, and associated design chain and supply chain services to the North, South, and Central American markets. Effective July 3, Delph will be responsible for the strategy and business activities of the EM group within this highly successful region of Avnet’s components operating group, which posted annual revenue of $4.9 billion for fiscal year 2015. He will report directly to Gerry Fay, president of Avnet EM worldwide.

“Chuck brings a high level of energy, passion, and industry experience to this position, which is a powerful combination,” says Fay. “His diverse background and proven success in the Americas market will serve us, our customers, and our partners well going forward.”

Delph brings more than 24 years of electronics distribution industry experience to this position. Since 2009, he has successfully led the EM Americas components selling organization, serving as senior vice president of executive sales for the Americas. Prior to his current role, Delph held several positions of increasing responsibility within Avnet, including district manager, regional manager, and area director. In 2011, he received the prestigious Avnet Chairman’s Award.

Delph succeeds Ed Smith, a 25-year electronics industry veteran who has held the role since February 2009. Smith has been promoted to senior vice president of Avnet embedded solutions globally, effective July 3.
