’s new Mercury-4 Laser Wire Stripper is a slim, but powerful bench-top laser-stripping machine capable of processing wires and shielded cables with outer diameters spanning 0.025–6mm (0.001–0.2”). It features a simple touchscreen interface that allows users to input all parameters, including: laser power, speed, and position, with just a few clicks and provides high-quality, completely nick-free stripping every time, making it the perfect solution for critical applications in which mechanical stripping is not possible or allowed. It also allows users to further increase productivity with a custom wire fixture that can hold and process multiple wires in a single cycle or hold flat cables to perform any type of stripping pattern within a 50x50mm (2×2”) area. The Mercury-4 can be used as a standalone bench-top unit or interfaced with any Cut & Strip machine for window stripping with a 100% circumferential strip.

An ideal companion to cleaving and splicing devices for standard and high strength applications that demand repeatable, high quality results, Schleuniger’s compact FiberStrip 7030 stripping machine features a special blade geometry and integrated centering aid that allow it to strip single coated and buffered fibers in a semi-automatic fashion with no possibility of contacting the glass fiber, ensuring the preservation of its surface integrity, strength, and mechanical lifetime expectancy. The machine is available with a variety of quick-change clamping options to accommodate the processing of various types of fiber, as well as with adapters that accept the docking of fiber holders from many different fusion splicer manufacturers.

’s WireCam quality assurance system for its CrimpCenter machines accurately monitors both the stripping results and several other properties of positioned seals in real-time to enable increased production quality while maintaining high machine performance. During operation, a camera takes a picture of the processed wire-end while the wire is in motion, and the advanced software individually inspects each single wire-end and compares it with a two-dimensional, top-view reference picture to ensure the utmost precision.
