JST PBV Series Wire-to-Board Connectors

By News Release | June 22, 2015

The JST PBV Series wire-to-board connectors are designed with a secure locking feature that is ideal for high-vibration conditions.

JST Corporation’sJST PBV Series Wire-to-Board Connectors new PBV Series wire-to-board, crimp-style disconnectable connectors provide optimal performance even in high-vibration conditions. A compact, low-profile connector, the PBV Series has a 2.0mm (.079″) pitch. These highly reliable SMT connectors are available in both side- and top-entry configurations. They incorporate both polarization and a secure locking feature designed to prevent contact stubbing and back-out when mated, making them ideal for consumer, commercial, and industrial applications where vibration might occur. The positive locking system is designed to fit inside the envelope of the header making it possible to stack the headers close together and still be able to release the positive lock.

The disconnectable, crimp-style PBV Series connector is available in two to 15 circuit sizes rated 3A AC/DC (using 22AWG) at 100V AC/DC. Wire sizes 28AWG to 22AWG are accommodated. Temperature range is -25°C to +85°C including temperature rise when applying an electrical current. The SMT headers are molded in a RoHS-compliant 94V-0 polyamide resin; the socket housing is PA 66, UL94V-0-rated nylon; and contacts are tin-plated phosphor bronze.

Mating shrouded headers for top- and side-entry provide a sufficient flat surface for vacuum gripping equipment. Contacts are offered on standard size reels for semi-automatic or fully automatic application tooling while mini-reels are offered for mini-reel hand tools. SMT headers are provided on embossed tape for automatic insertion equipment.
