IMS 2021

IMS and Microwave Week 2021 will be presented in a dual format, with in-person events in Atlanta June 7-10, 2021, and virtual events available June 20-25, 2021. IMS2021, the centerpiece of Microwave Week, is comprised of three conferences: The RFIC Symposium, the ARFTG Conference, and a large exhibition featuring the latest products for communications, aerospace, automotive, IoT, THz, and other emerging technologies. This year’s event will be centered around the theme of “Connecting for a Smarter, Safer World,” and activities include a technical program, the Connected World Summit, the world’s largest RF and microwave commercial exhibition, workshops and application seminars, competitions, and networking events. ECIA podcastIn the June 2021 episode of ECIA’s The Channel Channel podcast, ECIA Foundation Executive Director Debbie Conyers joins Digi-Key Electronics’ Vice President of Business Development Paul Dosser in conversation with inventor Dean Kamen. An inventor, entrepreneur, a tireless advocate for science and technology, Kamen holds more than 1,000 U.S. and foreign patents. He founded DEKA Research & Development Corp. to develop internally generated inventions as well as to provide research and development for clients. He also founded FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) programs to engage students in STEM activities. Kamen will present a keynote session sponsored by Digi-Key Electronics and TE Connectivity at the ECIA Executive Conference in Chicago October 24-26, 2021.

Amphenol awards Avnet performance awardsAmphenol has awarded two best performance awards to Avnet based on the largest point-of-sale (POS) billings growth from the prior calendar year. The “Best Performing Distributor Award in Asia” and Amphenol’s most prestigious “Best Performing Global Distributor Award.” Amphenol and Avnet have been partners since 1957, enabling the electronics industry together for more than 64 years.

 

Smiths Interconnect Global award to TTI IncSmiths Interconnect has awarded its new Global award to TTI Inc. in recognition of the distributor’s prominent worldwide activity. Additionally, 2020 regional awards were presented to Mouser Electronics Inc. for best performing North America distributor, thanks to its outstanding activity in the sale of board text fixture probes. The distribution award in EMEA went to CEL S.A., in recognition of its value-added services for high-reliability connectors in France. The distribution award for Asia went to Wai Tat Electronics Ltd, an established partner with significant design-in activity throughout the year.

 

Fischer Connectors receives Red Dot product design awardFischer Connectors has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award for Product Design for its Fischer LP360 connectors from the Fischer Freedom Series. The product was recognized in two categories: “Mobile Phones, Tablets and Wearables” and “Smart Products.” The judges praised the connectors’ appealing and user-friendly design concept. The Fischer LP360 was rated “smart” for its multifunctional integration capability and modularity. The rugged, low-profile connector serves as a miniaturized active device, a fastening mechanism, and an electrical signal and power connection.

Fischer Connectors receives Red Dot product design awardHeilind Electronics is now offering TEWA’s complete product portfolio of temperature sensors and thermistors. The TEWA temperature sensors line will complement Heilind’s existing sensor portfolio by adding a wide range of standard and custom temperature sensors based on NTC, PTC, RTD, TC, and other sensing elements. These devices can be used for temperature measurement in consumer and industrial applications, specifically those requiring stable working temperatures between -80°C and 1000°C.

Pioneering product lines such as GCT’s ionex range of charging-focused USB Type-C connectors are now available through Mouser Electronics, enhancing access for the wider global design engineering community to ionex and many other progressive interconnect solutions.

 

Borsig distributor for TrelleborgBörsig has been granted official distribution rights for Trelleborg Industrial Solutions’ smart cable management systems. Trelleborg is a world leader in engineered polymer solutions that seal, damp, and protect critical applications. Its products are used in panel construction segments, transportation technology, renewable energy generation, mechanical engineering, the food and beverages industry, and in telecommunication infrastructure.
