Schleuniger will be exhibiting at The Assembly Show, which will be held October 28-30 at the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. Schleuniger (booth 233) will be demonstrating S.WOP (S.oftware for Wire Optimized Production), which manages the planning and monitoring of all wire processing machines in a factory. In addition, it will showcase its newest coax cable stripper, the SemiRigid 1050. This highly specialized machine for stripping aluminium- or copper-jacketed, semi-rigid coaxial cables features a user-friendly, high-resolution color touchscreen interface and intuitive programming.
Schleuniger will also exhibit at EPTECH Quebec City on Tuesday, September 23, and EPTECH Halifax on Thursday, September 25. EPTECH is the only series of coast-to-coast national electronics shows in Canada. Schleuniger will exhibit the EcoStrip 9300 automatic cut and strip machine and several popular benchtop wire stripping machines, including the CoaxStrip 5200, UniStrip 2300, and RotaryStrip 2400.
Molex’s previously announced acquisition of Flamar Cavi Elettrici s.r.l. has closed. Italian-based cable manufacturer Flamar specializes in the design of custom cables for industrial connectivity applications. Flamar will now operate as a subsidiary of Molex Incorporated. Terms were not disclosed. Flamar Cavi Elettrici manufactures custom cables from design to finished product. Its high-performance cables are deployed in industrial, automation, robotics, broadcast audio/video, and telecommunications applications.
Angola Cables, a leading Angolan operator of fiber-optic submarine cables, announced a strategic partnership with DE-CIX, the world’s leading Internet exchange operator headquartered in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes a long-term collaboration and creates the foundations of a new neutral interconnection environment in the Republic of Angola and in the Southern African Region. Despite the continent of Africa collectively reporting less than 1 Terabit per second of traffic today, the Republic of Angola currently reports up to 20 Gb/s. Demand is expected to rise across Africa to as much as 10 Terabits per second by 2020.
Newark element14 announced the availability of the new Fluke Connect system, which allows maintenance technicians to wirelessly transmit measurement data from their test tools to their smartphones for secure storage on the Cloud and universal team access from the field. More than 20 Fluke tools connect wirelessly with the app, including digital multimeters, infrared cameras, insulation testers, process meters, and specific voltage, current, and temperature models. The Fluke Connect allows maintenance technicians to make better, faster decisions by giving them access to records and measurements in real time and increases the safety of the technicians working with energized equipment.

LEMO acquired Northwire Inc. (NWI), a US specialty cable manufacturer of wire and multiconductor cable and retractiles for the medical, aerospace and defense, energy, and industrial markets.
