TE Connectivity has completed the previously announced acquisition of Measurement Specialties, a leading global designer and manufacturer of sensors and sensor-based systems. The company offers a broad portfolio of sensor technologies including pressure, vibration, force, temperature, humidity, ultrasonics, position, and fluid, for a wide range of applications and industries. The acquisition of Measurement Specialties expands TE’s sensor business significantly and builds on its strength in harsh environment applications. For reporting purposes, Measurement Specialties will be included as part of TE’s Transportation Solutions segment.

Bel Fuse is combining the recently acquired Emerson Connectivity Solutions and previously acquired Cinch Connectors into the Cinch Connectivity Solutions group, bringing together the best of what the two organizations have to offer.

Uwe Graff, HARTINGAfter eight years as managing director and then senior vice president, production and logistics, Torsten Ratzmann will leave the HARTING Technology Group in 2015 to take on the new position of CEO at a company in the automotive supply and consumer goods industry. Until the appointment of a successor, Ratzmann will systematically focus on the key elements of the “Route 2020” growth strategy. Uwe Gräff, the new managing director, marketing, sales, and R&D at HARTING Electric and managing director, R&D at HARTING Electronics, will take over Ratzmann’s responsibilities for development at the HARTING Electronics and HARTING Electric divisions on January 1. Gräff joins HARTING Technology Group after holding various management positions at Festo AG & Co. KG, Esslingen.

Mouser Electronics has unveiled its new security applications site on Mouser.com, to offer design resources to engineers looking to develop cutting-edge security systems. The new site contains valuable resources for developers interested in developing security-related systems. The applications section provides a comprehensive overview of IP Cameras including a detailed system diagram with recommended components; the featured products section lists important components used for security applications, including Analog Devices’ Blackfin 16-/32-bit Processors, TE Connectivity’s CLOUDSPLITTER Connector System, Broadcom’s Fast Ethernet Switches, and many more; the articles section lists papers on key topics including modern machine vision technology, the Internet of Things, and video surveillance;  and the resources section lists videos and application notes that discuss device selection and application considerations for different security applications.

AVX Corporation has expanded its partnership with Modelithics, the leading RF/microwave simulation model provider, with the addition of 45 new Modelithics substrate scalable equivalent circuit models. Designed to speed up design decisions and circuit level optimizations when used in combination with the industry’s leading electronic design automation tools, including Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), Keysight Genesys, and NI AWR Microwave Office, highly accurate, substrate scalable models are now available for AVX thin film couplers, multilayer organic (MLO) diplexers, and a variety of RF/microwave capacitors and inductors.

Two new classes have been added to the Teledyne LeCroy Signal Integrity Academy. The Practical S-Parameter Measurement and Analysis class helps students enter the 1% of engineers that understand S-Parameters. The second new class, Video Recorded Presentations and Webinars, is a compilation of presentations from Eric Bogatin over the past several years.
