Top 10 Best Performers in European Connector Companies

In 2013, Bishop & Associates conducted a customer survey of European connector companies, asking OEMs and distributors for their opinions on how 43 connector companies were serving their interconnect needs. A total of 399 connector users participated in the survey and provided performance evaluations of the companies listed on the questionnaire.

We asked 20 different questions. Connector users repeatedly advised that “quality of products” was the most important criteria in the selection of a vendor. This was followed by delivery and then order lead time. Price competitiveness was not listed as a critical factor, but if a company received good evaluations on quality, delivery, and lead time, then price became an important factor in determining which company was awarded the business.

The following tables identify the Top 10 best performing companies on quality, delivery, lead times, and price.

It is interesting to note that six of the Top 10 in quality did not rank in the Top 10 in price competitiveness. The six that made the list for quality but not for price were Samtec, Rosenberger, Yamaichi, HARTING, Phoenix Contact, and LEMO SA. This suggests that connector users value high-quality products and are willing to pay for them.

Congratulations to the four companies that achieved Top 10 ranking in both quality and price: ept, FCT Electronics, WAGO, and Kycon.
